Lake Pueblo State Park is home to a fascinating variety of birds. Led by Harry Rurup, a knowledgeable birder and Arkansas Valley Audubon Society member, this enjoyable walk to observe our feathered friends is great for all ages and experience levels. 
Meet at Visitor Center to begin. Then we'll drive to the fish hatchery and then to the river where we will walk along the trail. Bring a hat, sunscreen and insect repellent, and water.

Birdwalks on the 4th Saturday of every month at the
Nature and Raptor Center of Pueblo at 9am.



AUGUST 26, 2017 – WET MOUNTAIN VALLEY FIELD TRIP: Plan to participate this year in AVAS’s spectacularly scenic birding trip in Custer County. Those who stay all day will probably see over one hundred species including waterfowl, raptors, warblers, and many others in a variety of habitats. Meet the trip leaders at Lake DeWeese at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26.
